Overhead Hallway Burn Prop

Overhead Hallway Burn Prop

The Overhead Hallway Burn Prop replicates fire extension and concealed-space ignition conditions for realistic overhead attack and TIC search training. Designed for NFPA 1402-compliant Class A live-fire structures, this system simulates ceiling fires above standard hallway conditions using bunkable framing configurations. The prop allows instructors to construct a false ceiling using 2×6 cross joists and OSB sheathing, with a half pallet and bale of straw placed above to create visible rollover and flame spread conditions. For smoldering and thermal imaging drills, 2×4 cross joists and drywall can be used with small straw fires to simulate hidden heat sources. Fast-reset construction allows quick panel replacement between evolutions, making this prop ideal for repeated fire extension, overhead attack, and thermal imaging camera (TIC) training under controlled burn conditions.

Features

NFPA 1402-Compliant Design: Built for safe use in live-fire Class A training structures with proper ventilation and supervision.
Realistic Overhead Fire Simulation: Recreates ceiling-level heat and flame extension using 2×6 cross joists and OSB sheathing.
Smoldering/TIC Training: Supports 2×4 drywall configurations for controlled low-visibility and heat-source search exercises.
Fast Reset System: Modular framing and replaceable ceiling panels allow quick turnarounds between drills.
Engineered Durability: Heavy-duty framing withstands repeated heat exposure and physical impact in burn tower environments.
